Day 1 of K.I.S.S.

K.I.S.S. means "keeping it sweet and simple" ;)

I'm going back to basics for myself.  Staying low carb, "if I bite it, write it", exercising (which I never stopped) and focusing on myself.

It always seems when I don't put myself first, I let things get to me and I eat for comfort.  I had a gain last year because of the same freaking thing.  You would figure I would learn the first time lol

I'm very frustrated with myself *but* I'm not beating myself up over it.  I did have a "Come to Jesus" with myself.  I can't let my commitment to my self slip again.  It just can't happen.  I'm being selfish and I could careless if people agree with me or not.  I don't care if the Zombie Apocalypse is happening...I'm going to stay true to myself.  Period.

Yeah!  Why not me?!


So my day went pretty well.  It was a peaceful day as far as food is concerned (if you want to check out my food I'm on My Fitness Pal under taneeisfitforlife).  It was the typical stay at home mom day besides it being my youngest child's birthday.  I can't believe my baby is 7 *sniff*

She got a new bike, that is a little big for her so I spent the afternoon helping her get comfortable with it.

I did have a vanilla cupcake with a Hello Kitty ring tonight to celebrate but it's all good ;)

My big decision is joining my local gym (Slidell Athletic Club)....I'm going tomorrow to check it out :) 

Do you exercise at home, outside or in a gym?


  1. I started CrossFit a month ago and I love it! It's the best work out ever and you get a lot of support from everybody. I already feel stronger and better. I go 5 times a week.

    1. Crossfit isn't an option for me :) All the locations here are owned by one of the bigger health clubs & I'm not going to pay two memberships.

  2. Okay I know I will probably sound stupid but what is Crossfit?

  3. I work out at primarily at home and outside. It works in my schedule the best (especially in the winter when it is bitterly cold and dark at 4:30 or 5:00am).

  4. We have a local gym that we can pay by the month. Depends on my mood and the weather. We have some pretty brutal winters here. I like to work out at the gym or at home. There are exercise classes run through our rec dept and held at the school gym, once I loose some more then maybe I'll go.

  5. I am TOTALLY spoiled with a complete home gym in the basement (elliptical, treadmill, bike and weights - plus TV with Netflix or Ipod for music). I'm a SAHM, and I slip downstairs for 20 minutes several times a day.

    I DO miss the big gym for their racquetball court ... I do not have that in my home gym.

  6. Your little girl is beautiful and a grand occasion to eat a cupcake and justify it! Resistance weight training at home is always a good substitute for the times you can't make it to the gym or can't afford membership, can't afford the machine for home etc, using stretchy bands and using your own weight to workout. I'm very excited to see the honesty in your blog, thoroughness and the support to all looking to better their lifestyle and themselves through your blog. Thank you.


    1. Thank you :) It's not about being able to afford the gym or a machine. I prefer free weights. We have an Olympic weight cage in the garage. It's about what works best for the individual.
      I decided not to join the gym, btw :) I've done it all on my own at home so far. Why mess with success right?

  7. Our family belongs to a beautiful gym. We splurged on it a couple of years ago. We rarely use it.

    That is changing. I am starting with what I call "Slow Fatty Walking" - I used that title for "add exercise" on My Fitness Pal - because my motto is, "Think Big - Start Small." I have previously been more active, but never optimally fit. It has been years since I exercised.

    I have done a bunch of REALLY HARD emotional work on myself over the years. That has helped tremendously. I reached the bottom of some junk from my childhood and felt myself get free. I know I will have occasions where I will fall into the emotional pit, but this time I'm armed.

    I am ready to get healthy. And I have to say, the thing that sent me on this journey TODAY was finding your blog last night. I feel so lucky to have found someone who is articulating what I have felt and experienced about food, fitness, and eating. I feel so SANE now!
