So before I get to the giveaway let me trot down memory lane of 2012.
My year in review ;)
- I helped open an aerobics studio.
It was a lot of fun! I however did a lot of classes and it well kinda led me into..... - I regained almost 30-35 pounds because of the bad food choices I made.
Not gonna lie or make excuses. I made bad food choices and I didn't put myself first. - I did make it on a local TV news segment (which I re-gained 15 by this time)
- I quit the aerobic studio and kinda floundered around during the summer. I still taught Zumba at a Rec Park and at a church but nothing really for myself.
- Something clicked in August in my head. I had enough and got back to basics. K.I.S.S. became my motto on the facebook page lol
- Got to 165 pounds (5 pounds until my original goal) and decided I can go a little more further.
Also decided to get back into running. - Decided to go low carb after talking to my doctor and seeing my blood sugar levels
Now I think y'all deserve to enter the giveaway now lol
Want to win one of these?
All you have to do is comment here on this blog post! Tell me what you want to see in 2013 on the fan page and this blog :D I told you it was easy! Contest ends January 3rd.
Congrats on 10k! Woot!
ReplyDeleteI have been on a healthyliving journey for two years. I keep hitting a weight that i just cant get past (mentally i am sure). What advice do you have to get past those mental blocks that destroy your efforts?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know if you had issues starting to run, was it a process for you or did it come naturally. Do you enter races to keep yourself motivated in the process? I believe the hardest thing is to stay motivated to continue the process because its so easy to give in to what's easy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 10k!! I've been dealing with a lot of mental blocks and emotional eating issues lately. I know you recently did a vlog on that, which I watched and it helped, but that always seems like a topic that effects so many of us. Advice on how to stay motivated while going through a mental slump might be helpful. Bobbie Tumolo
ReplyDeleteOn your blog in 2013, I would like to see step-by-step guides with photos, on your favourite healthy recipes! And Q&A sessions with other weight loss success stories :) Your blog is great, keep up the amazing work :) xxxx
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your Facebook page and this blog. I feel like I not alone with all this weight I have to lose. I am a emotional eater and have diabetes and find encouragement when I read you information. I would love to see more emotional eating info on your page. Thanks so much Congrats on all of your success.
ReplyDeleteI am still new to your story and I don't know if I can tell you what I'd like to see on the page, but wanted to say thank you for sharing and inspiring me to find a way to make myself healthier
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your blog. I am glad you are writing. I have been feeling the frustration of being stuck and find your blog insightful. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Way to go on 10k! I am not sure what more u can add to your page and blog because honestly u just rock. So I say just keep up the great work. I think that ppl relate to u because u r just like us, just a normal every day person that has their own set of struggles and accomplishments:) I can't wait to be here when u reach your new goal!:)
ReplyDeleteI'm also a new follower (and didn't even realize you had a blog), but I want to see the same motivation and encouragement you've shown on your FB page since I've been there. I love reading your updates! Congrats on hitting 10k!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to see workouts.....and meal plans!!! :D Im starting on That stuff....and i need a lot of help!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIm Isa García Novais On FacebOOk.
DeleteI love following your journey. You are a real person who struggles as so many of us do! I relate to you. In 2013, I would love to know some of your recipes. I, too am a southern girl and love creole cooking....without the empty fat and calories! Thank you for your thinspiration!
DeleteLooking into the new year to get healthy. I'm following your page to help me get thru the hard times, so I'd like for you to keep up the healthy tips. Christine Holmes
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more meal plans and some Ideas on how to get started with some basic work outs to do at home!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see meal plans with calorie counts
ReplyDeleteI'm always a big fan of seeing success stories! I'd love to see those! Loving your blog! Hope everyone has a safe and successful 2013!
ReplyDeleteYou have showed me how to get back on track and re-focus. For 2013? Just more of what you have been doing. Love seeing your menus.
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job this past year you stumbled but got right back with it. I am hoping to be able to do the same next year. My husband being told he has lung cancer had really knocked the wind out of my sails. But this is going to be my year.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that I found your blog!! I really struggle with my food choices and would love to see easy and quick options for meals and snacks.
ReplyDeleteI am a fairly new follower to your facebook page and website so I can't offer much in the way of what I would like to see different or change. I love your positive and sensible approach to getting fit. Your FB post always make me smile and seem to come just when I need a bit of encouragement. Wishing you all a fit and happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI love your fb page, it is so inspiring and motivating. What I love the most about it is that you are showing your struggles. When people have weight loss pages and pretend everything is fine even through their struggles, it makes it hard for me to relate. I appreciate you being honest. :) It would be helpful to see more how you are conquering emotional eating because it's something that I struggle with a lot.

I love your page. I have started my journey to lose 160 pounds and find you an inspiration. I love your page so much that I don't know what I would change or add. Maybe more recipes? You and your page rock!
ReplyDeletewww.facebook.com/fattofitmomma
DeleteLove the pictures that you post- I guess more recipes... I feel like you do so much anyway! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your page...love your positive attitude! Always like seeing recipe ideas and ways to get motivated to exercise.
ReplyDeleteMore food related problems/posts... recipes, what you buy, favorite healthy meals, etc. I think it's what a bunch of people [myself included at times] have the most problem with.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I would love to see different types of exercises that help when hitting a plateau and always love recipes to help along the way. Keep up the great work, you are doing awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your page but very excited! I am finding your writings very inspirational. Please continue sharing your journey...meal plans, recipes, photos etc!!
ReplyDeleteIm new to your page also, but would like to see quick easy healthy recipes and exercise tips. Have a Happy New Year :)
ReplyDeleteNancy
More on the switch to low carb...I am doing it to and love the help!
ReplyDeleteI really like the recipes and success stories. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your page! Recipes, how to meal planning, challenges, etc. Just keep doing what you're doing.
ReplyDeleteTristen Dessellier
PS don't have a profile to post so just used Anonymous
Trying to figure out which is the healthiest eating plan. Looking at Paleo--but way too much meat! May do Paleo vegan w occasional fish/seafood--sustainably caught.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more fitness tips and guidance. Meal ideas are always a plus
Deletemaybe some healthy recipes? juicing perhaps
ReplyDeleteLove your page! Love the success stories you share with us!! I also love the recipes you share with us!!!
ReplyDeleteI mostly love your positive attitude!!! Thanks for being there for us!
I love the menu plans, pls continue! Even if you are doing low-carb, continue offering points for us WW. I love eating low-carb meals if they are within my target but I'm not up for a complete switch.
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration!
Everything I want to see, your already doing it. Everyones journey is different, seeing what works for you and how I'm comparing whats working for me is good.
ReplyDeleteLow Carb recipe ideas
ReplyDeleteI love the dinner menus you gave recently. Low carb works for me too, but there's no way I would ever demand someone else do it too. I'm also on WW so any ideas for food are great! Thanks for being positive and supportive of everyone and every way of weight loss! I love that you show us you're REAL and down to earth, whether you're down or up on the scale. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more meal plans, I love the ones you post! I also love that you have chickens:-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that you are in Louisiana!! Me too!!! Would love to take a class of yours
Thats it!! Happy New Year!!
You certainly have taken off, haven't you?? Good for you!! I would love to see meal plans and nutritional facts of those plans. Snack food ideas are helpful because that is my downfall!
ReplyDeleteCrazy huh? Now if this would be my career my heart would be truly happy :D
DeleteOhhh boy, I want a fitbit SO bad!!! I've got about $50 saved up for one, but I decided to go back to school to get my associates in pre-business (only 3 semesters to go!) so that's eaten my finances.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to see more of the stuff you bring with when you're on the go. I volunteer a lot, as well as visit playgroups, birthday parties, parks, zoos, etc. and sometimes it's hard to eat healthy while chasing after a toddler. I always see suggestions for trail mix and some weird gogurt type stuff, but I'm needed more variety so I don't get burned out too easily <3
I think your blog and facebook are both very well rounded. I do think you could add a compilation of your nutrition stuff on one page on your blog. There are a lot of really good tips and ideas on your facebook page, but they get lost really quickly in the daily posting.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all of the motivation and work that you put into helping others with their fitness and nutrtion goals. I believe that daily motivation is key to staying on track and you help me with that.
that's why I started the blog....hopefully I can work on improving this blog and keep it organized lol
DeleteFirst I love your K.I.S.S. motto!! Though I am very new to your page...I love how real you are! Keep doing what you are doing, because it's working...10K!!! WOOHOO!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your page, and I love how people feel free enough to share their stories of ups and downs. I enjoy watching the different journeys and seeing how they measure to my own. I learn from them--and I gain hope from them. What I'd really love to see is a posting section where we can share/swap recipes.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what else you can add to the blog or FB page. I think it's awesome. Maybe some more recipes? Breakfast is my biggest struggle. Thanks for being awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love all your posts! I also like that you are someone I can relate to.
ReplyDeleteI want to continue seeing your weekly meal plans. I also like how you keep it real and admit to not always eating the healthy food. I want to continue for you to show that because I hate how people are always suprised when I eat a cookie or have a small McDonald's meal. I also love seeing all the picture quotes/inspirations and would love to see more of them!
ReplyDeleteI love what you have been doing so just keep up the good work because I am on my weight lost journey and in 2013 I want to complete my goal.
ReplyDeleteI like to read your posts because you are so motivating to me. I really need that person to coach me along and you are real and speak to us from the stand point of having been there. I like the inspiration, how you keep on track, meal plans ect, and how you keep your whole family involved in your journey.
ReplyDelete10,000! Congratulations! After reading your blog and FB posts, it's really not hard to believe. You rock!
ReplyDeleteSince I'm fairly new to your blog and FB page, I would have to say I want to see more of what you already do! You are real, you speak your heart and you share everything that is important to your journey (and ours!). Thank you for all you do!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I like that you acknowledge that everyone loses and maintains in different ways and that what ever works for an individual is perfectly fine. I can't think of anything different to do, maybe just ideas with different view points to keep in context with different things work for different people.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog & Facebook page. Thank you for being so motivating. What I would like to see on here in 2013 is how you re-motivated yourself after gaining back some weight. I have gained back about 20lbs after losing 120lbs. It is hard to get re-motivated.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Nicole
stampergirl1975@gmail.com
Just keep doing what you're doing! I LOVE your down-to-earth approach and appreciate that you keep your page AD FREE!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear more about your low carb journey. My doctor just tested me for PCOS because I have all of the symptoms. She said I don't technically have it yet - but looks like I'm on my way to developing it. So I'm starting the South Beach diet to cut down on carbs and sugars to help with the insulin resistance.
Now throw some good mojo into the drawing for me because I've been eying one of those fit bits!!! ;)
:) Monica

Thank you for having a blog and page people like me can follow for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about your exercise and eating! Happy New Year!
LOVE your blog page!!! New to your facebook page and blog but what what I've seem more of the same in 2013 you are doing an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteTanee, I want to see more of the same from your blog and FB page in 2013. I love how you post what works for you and also share what has worked for others. Your story is very motivational and I need motivation. Can't wait to see what 2013 has in store!
ReplyDeleteAny suggestions on how to exercise with back problems. I can eat good it is the exercise that I have a hard time with actually any kind of ab work because it pulls on the lower back and that causes mine to go out. So any exercise modification suggestions would be great. I really like that your blogs and FB page are down to earth!
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your page and was so happy when you started your blog. I would like to continue to see you post updates on your journey, as well as tips, exercises, recipes, etc. Basically, keep doing what you've been doing!

ReplyDeleteGina M.
I really do think this web page and your FB page are great. They inspire me everyday to keep going. I love how you plan your meals and get everyone in your family motivated to be more active. I might like to hear more about struggles you have encountered..ie...bad days..fears...emotions..etc and how you got over such hurdles to continue on get to the wonderful place that you are in now.
ReplyDeleteMore of the same! It's all great. I would like to see like examples of your daily schedule. Start to finish. Time management is always difficult for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!!! Hope you're 2013 is full of goals and new achievements. I lost 35lbs in 2012 and hoping to shed another 50. I love your honesty about the "floundering" because we all get distracted occasionally and have to reexamine our fitness efforts. Thanks for the reassurance that we're not the only ones out there who have to pick ourselves up and keep going and congrats on the cover shoot!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for the contest....would love to see recipes that you love to make and even an example of your workout schedule.
DeleteLove your blog and FB page. I also do weight watchers and enjoy seeing what you have planned for meals each week. I wouldn't mind some challenges every once in awhile, even simple ones like drink "xx" oz of water every day or move for at least 45 minutes 4 days this week--just something to give me a goal or make me stop and think about what I am doing. Also if you have recipes you like, maybe post those. Best wishes for 2013 and keep on inspiring us!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your Facebook page and blog!! You are so inspirational! I would love to continue to see all of the inspirational stories and pictures. I am just starting my journey and have a long way to go, and these help a lot! Also, recipes would be amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI just found this blog, so I am not sure what I would like to see on it that you don't already do. Maybe a food and exercise log everyday to see what you are doing for your success.
ReplyDeleteI too am inspired by your blog and facebook page. I enjoy reading your posts and for 2013u would love to see you keep doing what you are already doing,,,motivating, inspiring, influencing others through your our achievements and by sharing what has worked for you! Keep up the awesome work!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work! You have come so far and you are doing wonders for us who are trying to find their way to losing the weight. I would like to see more about your typical day, from start to finish. You're a busy woman, a mom, a wife, how do you do all of that and still make time to workout? I would be interested in your daily schedule of activities, which may help set examples for us who feel we have no time to workout. Overall, great job and I thank you for all you do!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found your Blog. I lost 55lbs last year and within 3 months, I have gained 40lbs back. My fault, I let life get in my way of being my best. I took on others' problems and ate them!!! I would like to see techniques on how to keep myself first place without feeling guilty about it. I would like to see an exercise routine for different skill levels. I have found I feel worse than I did at my highest weight of 317 lbs. My joints ache plus I will be 50 years old this year so I know I need to be careful with how I approach my exercise routine. So, that leads me into safety tips, proper exercising techniques as well. I'm looking forward to beginning my Journey having you by my side. Thanks for all you do, you are such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more about maintaining a wt loss...for me that's the hardest part!
ReplyDeletetrishmck@yahoo.com
I am starting over, again... I have started and failed so many times with so many different excuses that it makes me sick. How do you keep yourself motivated? That seems to be my biggest problem. I start the gym, workout 6-7 days per wk for 2 months and then the excuses start. I have a class that ran late and I am tired, got a paper due and don't have the extra time, it's raining and I don't want to go out, it's never ending. And as for eating right I start out counting calories or carbs and eating as carb free as I can and end up telling myself that I can eat what I want to if I exercise a little more or vise verse. I am so tired of yo-yoing and getting nowhere. So I guess what I would love to see is more about how you keep yourself motivated day in and day out. Hiccups are expected, but I have complete shutdown within 2 months. You look great by the way!
ReplyDeleteI just want to keep getting encouraged. I want to lose about 50 pounds. I always lost about 20 and go back to my unhealthy ways. I want to see healthy tips!
ReplyDeleteJust keep doing what you are doing. I got to your page only 2 and a half weeks ago and I am already so inspired!! I have so much to lose and you make me feel quite sure that I can get there. Thank you for all you have already done. :)I do not have any of the profiles to use for contacting...so if by any chance I am chosen, my email is cherylanderica@yahoo.com. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing such an awesome job! I've been following you on Facebook for a year now, and love the positivity that pops up in my feed from you. Just want to see that continue, and see you continue to be happy and healthy! And I'd love to win the contest haha
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more healthy tips and ways to stay motivated.
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your page, so I'm not sure what I'd like to see more of. I do want to congratulate you on your weight loss and thank you for sharing your story.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see more recipes and just keep doing what you are doing.. I love your site :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to read more about running (I am doing my first 10K in May 2013 and I am always looking for encouragement for weight loss - I have come so far but I need ideas to get farther in my weight loss - I am desperate!
ReplyDeleteLove your spirit and passion. Hope to see more of it and to follow your path and see us both reach our goals.
ReplyDeleteI love your reminders/ note to yourself, keep it up. It gives me nudge every single time!!!! Beside recipes, I just wondering if you can put any cheat/ desserts that we can have anytime our body request it beside dark chocolate (heavenly made treat). I have a sweet tooth *grin. Have great year ahead :)
ReplyDeleteI love how real you are! Very inspiring! I'd love to see more tips on how to shop at the grocery and the best things to buy.
ReplyDeleteI just want to keep seeing all the positive and real info, comments, encouragement, etc! I think its great as is! I love seeing the ups, downs, struggles & victories b/c its makes me feel as though Im not the only one struggling!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more insight into your early days for those of us who are just starting out!
ReplyDeleteYou are real, your advice is real and your journey is real! Such and inspiration to me and I can't wait to see what this year will bring us. Thanks for the great variety of posts! You truly share something for everyone. Even the poopheads. LOL :)
ReplyDeleteI love your page, your my inspiration! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS on 10k fans!!! And I think it's amazing that you have come so far in you health/ fitness goals!!! Nearly to you goal and 200 lbs gone!! That's not only incredible but very inspirational as well!!
ReplyDeleteI am new to you page (just joined a couple if days ago)! So, I can't say what I'd like to see different/new/ more of on your page. Apparently you are doing something right to have such a following!
I would like to say, I have been on my weight loss journey intentionally since February and have lost 79lbs since then. But since having my son in Sept '10, I have lost 100 lbs. I have wanted an HRM since July, but have not been able to purchase one. I want to know what I'm truly burning during my workouts. I don't like not knowing. I use the estimates on an online calculator, but have been told it grossly overestimates calories burned :-(...
This is very selfless and motivating that you are giving something away to celebrate your milestone!!! Keep up all the amazing work that you do not only in real life but also in the cyber world!!
P.S. My name on Fb and Google+ is: Shatonya Freeman
Just found your page and it's great to see so much success! Truly inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing success stories, meal plans and personal observations! It helps to see others on the same journey as myself and to see that others slip but don't have to fall. Thanks so much for the inspiration and motivation!!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration to so many. My goal is 75 lbs, I started in April and lost 20 and then went on vacation and lost my mind and have gained 15 of it back :(. I will win this battle!!! And would love a fitbit to help!
ReplyDeleteSince I am a more recent follower so I can't really say what I would like to see more of. I'm on a new self journey as well. I'm training for my first 1/2 marathon so I can use any tips on that you can offer. I'm scared to death!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to hear about your food choices and exercises that you do - what's working for you in your weight loss journey?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win this!!! :)
Thanks for sharing your journey, it is really motivational.
ReplyDeletemore recipes! i have been enjoying them!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! What a year for you?!?!?!?!!!! I love your blog and facebook! Great support! I'm always a sucker for success stories and menus/recipes (helps me keep it fresh). Keep up the great job! You're truly motivational!
ReplyDeleteI really love both your fan page and your blog! I like watching your journey as I make my own and would like that to continue along with more recipes. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reflection on the year! That is actually something to be very proud of - knowing how you got to where you are today, both the good and the not-so-good!
ReplyDeleteI am a newer follower so I would just like to continue seeing great motivational stories and tips. My journey is still in the relatively early stages. I have lost 40 lbs with about 70 more to go, but I still have a lot to work on in terms of my thinking.
Keep up the great work and have a GREAT year!
I honestly can't think of anything you could add or change about your blog or FB page. I love reading about success stories, and I can never get enough hints, tips and ideas.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything you should change. You have inspired me and I got a personal trainer in November and I have already lost 11 inches over my entire body.
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled upon your blog and facebook page. I'm lacking motivation and inspiration. I did get that from your blog and page. Don't think you need to change anything about it!
ReplyDeleteIn 2013 I want to become a healthier person for me and my 3 children. To teach them how to live a healty life. I want to also inspire others just as you and the other pages are inspiring me.
ReplyDeleteI'm a mom of 4 children ages 6 and under. 2013 is the year for me to get back in shape and be healthy! I love your FB page and blog - inspiration for me to keep on keepin' on! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie here so I don't know what to tell you to I want to see. I'm still browsing! LOL
ReplyDeleteVery excited to read your blogs they inspire me to get healthy and more fit. Working on me this year love reading realist people and there ideas and inspirations!!!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing pictures of what you're eating with the points! I'm on weight watchers and have lost 81.4 pounds so far with 23 to go! It's coming off slower so I would like tips on how to boost metabalism and how to change up my workout routine from home!! Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteI love following you on Facebook, and I only today discovered that you have a blog! How wonderful! I love seeing positive motivating posts, as well as real stories which mirror many of the challenges we all may face at one time in our lives or another. Keep up the good work, and congradulations to you for all you have accomplished so far! :)
ReplyDeleteI am one of your new followers!! I am excited to read about your journey to fitness and maybe learn a tip or two to help me along in my own journey!!
ReplyDeleteGayle
This blog is already awesome! I would like to see more exercise stuff, what you do, how often...how it worked, things that didn't work real well, etc. but I will still read if I never see this stuff! LOL
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway...I wanna win!!!! :)
I really enjoy reading your blog and Facebook page. You are very inspirational! I would love to read about your 10k and running ups and downs. I registered for my first half marathon and am nervous, yet excited all at the same time. What emotions did you experience during your training runs? How do you break through the mental barriers? I find myself running 3 miles no problem, but often have a hard time pushing myself beyond that limit. It's a mental thing - as I know my body can do it. Thanks! Great giveaway, too! Here's to a happy and healthy 2013!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the excellent work! Your motivational quotes throughout the day are really helping to keep me on track! Amy Martinez
ReplyDeleteI have followed you on facebook for a while now and I am new to your blog. You are such an inspiration, I look forward to reading your blog and getting motivated to lose 50+ pounds myself. I lost 35 pounds last year and regained every pound of it, so this year I want to lose it and keep it off for good and feed my kids healthier also. Do you have any ideas for cooking for the whole family and fitting in time for yourself?
ReplyDeleteYou have been such an inspiration to me! I do follow some other fan pages, but what I love about you is your honesty. Owning all of your choices - good and bad - is where success comes in. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteYou are a great inspiration for me. I love the success stories, and recipes. So I would love those continue on your pages (which I'm sure they will). I would also enjoy exercise program and/or DVD reviews. I get stuck sometimes and finding out what works or doesn't work for others is helpful. Keep up the good work! You will have surpassed 160 in no time at all!
ReplyDeleteI found you a month ago on FB. I have to say, I love your honesty (not to mention you are a fellow southern belle--i'm transplanted in the north now). I would love to run, but so afraid due to my knee, but maybe once I have lost more weight? Keep up your great work...remember, it is about you. and in taking care of yourself--you do help others to see it can be done! Thank you! PS my start weight was 360 too. I am at 341 now.
ReplyDeleteI've receantly had a baby and gained 70 lb not bc of the baby but becaise of poor eating...My goal is to lose all that weight and then some!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more examples of what you did to lose the weight at the beginning. Thank you for being so motivating!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so inspiring!!! Love reading your Facebook posts.... and wandering around on your blog. Love the before and after pix.
ReplyDeleteI love your page, and I love your drive. you are an inspiration to all of us trying to get to goal. Keep up your pushing us to be better.
ReplyDeleteI started out in May 2011 weighing 363 lbs, I am currently 230. My goal is to be 185 because I'm quite tall. I was thin when I was younger and my house burned down when I was 13 years old. I was in ICU for 4 months with a feeding tube and when I was released I became very embarrassed of how I looked and felt monstrous, so I kept myself in my house, and only went to school. I had to wear these bright green/purple pressure garments on my head, and entire body including hands that made me resemble an alien of some sorts, I never thought I would be myself again. From then until last year food became my best friend, I know that sounds so unhealthy! But, it never judged me, ever. It comforted me when I felt ugly and it tasted really good. But because I got so overweight I AGAIN shut myself away only to get bigger. Until I moved in with my uncle last year an worked out 6 hours a day 6-7 days a week for an entire year, and lost half of myself. I have before ad after picturesc but I am not sure if the fitness blog idea is the thing for me. I try to help my friends and family a bit but would rather wait until I am at my goal to reach the masses. I am sorry for the long response, but I figured I would share my story with you. I would like to see nothing new on the page because you are fantastic! I am encouraged and motivated to get to my goal by Christmas thanks to you and a few others. Thank you for hating your story and empowering simple women like myself to not only look great, but to feel great about themselves. Because self esteem is so very important. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI wanna see you reach your goals and I will do the same!! I am constantly looking for motivation and you do help with that!! making time to put me first!!
ReplyDeletethanks! :) Gina
Technically, I am restarting my journey. I spent the past two years going through a nasty divorce. At first i lost quite a bit of weight, but it was due to stress which was unhealthy. At the beginning of last year i started doing it the right way by counting calories and exercising. i even completed my first 5k last year. But about halfway through the year i lost my easy some how. i gained ask i lost back and then some. i am not proud to admit it but i weigh more now than i ever have in my life. i Am currently starting my journey again, for what i pray is the last time. cause i need this, not just for me, but my two small kids who only have me to rely on.
ReplyDeleteI am fairly new to your FB and blog so i can't say what i really want to see different or more of. i am still absorbing ask the info. But i like what I see so far! Any help with recipes, exercises, motivational quotes and images are all good and helpful in my book.
Congrats on your 10k! That's fantastic.
I apologize for the typos, my phone autocorrects with the strangest things. I added a few letters, left a few out, and put hating your story instead of sharing. My apologies and I hope the gist was easy to get. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the # of Fans--and to another great year!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to getting back on WW and your motivation!
I don't normally read blogs, but this one has me inspired. I lost 30 lbs a couple of years ago after a divorce and have been able to keep them off. I had run a marathon prior to the divorce at a heavier weight, but since have run 3 more and now have two scheduled for 2013. May this be the best year yet! Thank you for the inspirational blog and fb page. Love them both! Best of wishes to you for a wonderful year.

I'm not suprised to see you with over 10K fans. You are amazing, real.... just like one of "US". Your blogs are motivational and alot of times I feel like I've lived your life.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more on how you overcome obstacles to keep from falling completely off. I make it 3- 4 months then quit, fall back into old habits and gain back MORE than I lost.
Also, your running program or philosophy would be helpful.
Thanks again,
Tammy Rowland

I love that you maintain that you're not 100% clean eater. Its such a great realistic view of how so many busy people (and moms) live. More importantly, it makes the rest of us, who eat mainly healthy but eat a small amount of processed stuff, feel like we are not failures for doing so. I would love to see continued posts on FB and here about how you feel, how your eating and exercising affects you, and stuff that keeps you motivated. Like you said on FB earlier... best advice is from people who have the experience :)
ReplyDeleteI think you are doing an exceptional job already but I think what I could benefit from more is seeing the beginning of your journey. How did you start running? and How did you fight cravings and the boredom of exercise?
ReplyDeletei'm new to your blog (and loving it) so don't think i have any real suggestions at this point. would enjoy winning the fitbit!

ReplyDeleteI am new here but really like everything I have seen so far. I am also on a fitness journey so ready about your progress and how others react also is nice. I quit smoking and started running last may and have since ran 4 1/2 marathons. I love to tell the people that didn't think I could do it just to show them I am stronger than they think I am :)
